A nagypapája, az édesanyja, az édesapja valamennyien híres táncosok voltak, és tôle is mindenki azt várja, hogy folytassa a hagyományokat. Zsófi néha tehernek érzi a táncot. A környezetében mindenki természetesnek veszi, hogy ô jól táncol, jól tanul, és senki sem törôdik azzal, hogy néha inkább moziba menne Bálinttal, azzal a fiúval, aki régóta tetszik neki. Közeledik az Országos Néptáncfesztivál, és Zsófi még nincs az utazó csapatban. Egyik válogatás a másik után, és mindig más táncosokra mutat rá Csizmás Kandúr tanár úr. Bálint is a kiválasztott, sikeresebb lányokra kacsingat. Zsófi már kezd kétségbe esni, amikor egyik este nagypapája egy cipôt nyom a kezébe. Állítása szerint a cipô varázserôvel bír, és édesanyja annak idején a gyors topánkák segítségével kezdte el néptáncos-karrierjét. Zsófi régóta nem hisz a mesékben, de nagyon szereti nagypapáját, és valamiért úgy érzi, a cipô valóban segítségére lehet…   The Magic Shoes Zsófi is the youngest of a folk-dancing family. Her grandfather, her mother and her father were all famous dancers, and everyone expects her to follow in the family tradition. Zsófi sometimes considers folk dancing to be a burden. Everybody around her takes it for granted that she dances well and studies well. Nobody is interested in the fact that soometimes she would rather go to the cinema with Bálint, the boy she has liked for a long time. The National Folk Dancing Festival is approaching and Zsófi is not yet in the team. Auditions come and go, but it is always other dancers that Puss in Boots, the dancing instructor chooses. Bálint is getting more interested in the more successful girls who have already been picked for the team. Zsófi is beginning to feel desperate, but on one evening, her grandfather gives her a pair of shoes. He claims that the shoes have magic power, Zsófi’s mother started her career with the help of these self-same shoes, that made movement swift and agile.
